Why do compressed air systems need precision filters

Compressed air is a very important power source. It is safe, powerful and reliable. It is widely used in many industrial fields such as electronics, integrated circuits, semiconductors, chips, automobiles, medicine, chemicals, metallurgy, and textiles. However, if the compressed air is not treated, it contains a lot of pollution impurities will affect the manufacturing.

Air pollution impurities are mainly solid particles, oil, and water. If they are not removed, they will mix together to form a highly corrosive acidic sludge, which will quickly erode process equipment, affect product quality, and cause production flow interruption ,paralysis.

There are three main sources of solid particles: the atmosphere, the wear of moving parts of the compressor, and the pipeline.

Oil is very important in the compressor, which acts as a seal, lubricates and cools, and the atmosphere also contains oil, so the air at the outlet of the compressor contains a considerable amount of oil.

The content of water vapor in the air is very large, and it is directly related to temperature. Many products and equipment are very sensitive to water during manufacture and use.

Therefore, in the compressed air post-processing equipment, the filter occupies a considerable part, because the filter is easy to use and can quickly and effectively solve the problem of the quality of the compressed air back-end air source. But the filter also has a little limitation. The filter has a service time. When the time comes, the filter element must be replaced, and the consumables will increase. Some filters have a limited working range.

The choice of compressed air post-processing equipment is not just a filter, but should be used in conjunction with the post-processing cold dryer, suction dryer, degreasing equipment, etc., in order to achieve the best cost-effective effect in terms of effect and economy.

A compressed air filter is a device that filters and purifies compressed air. We generally refer to high-efficiency precision filters in compressed air system pipelines.

There are two main types of pollutants in compressed air. One is the air pollutants sucked into the compressor, 80% of which are below 2 μm in diameter; Become an aerosol of 0.01~0.8μm.

In compressed air systems, contamination can cause serious problems. Because air is compressible, pollutant particles are also drawn into the compressor during the compression process. In a compressed air system of 0.8MPa, the amount of pollutants is strengthened by 8 times in the compressed system. At this moment, these pollutant particles can cause serious damage to products produced with compressed air. These pollutants are pipe dust, wear particles, soot from combustion processes and micro-organisms. It can be roughly divided into three categories: large dust, particle size above 10 μm. Fine dust, the particle size is between 10~1μm. The finest dust, whose particles are less than 1 μm.

The filter can remove most of the liquid and solid particles, and the particle size is generally greater than 1 μm. To remove very small solid particles and oil-water aerosols, it is necessary to use a high-efficiency precision filter. The filter is mainly used to filter solid particles and impurities in compressed air, and has a certain blocking effect on liquid water and oil, changing the structure and filtering method of traditional filters. Filtration efficiency reaches 99.99%.
